Trainers, a new bug has been discovered in Pokemon Go, and players love it. That’s because it allows you to get tons of Scatterbug Candy, which is much needed to evolve them all.
Scatterbug, Spewpa, and Vivillion made their Pokemon Go debut in December 2022. These Pokemon can’t be encountered in the wild as a regular spawn, and you must pin and collect Postcards from Gifts. That said, you must collect Scatterbug to evolve into Vivillon.
To view your progress in collecting Scatterbug to evolve into Vivillon:
- Press the Player icon in the bottom left corner.
- Scroll down through the “Me” menu until you find the Medals section.
- Select the Butterfly icon to open your Vivillon Collector Medal.
– If you have not redeemed this Medal yet, it will be at the bottom of the Medals section. - Navigate to the sub-medals section beneath the World Map.
- If you have a Scatterbug encounter you can claim, instead of a sub-medal, you will see a grass icon with a question mark. Select this Encounter Icon to start your encounter to catch Scatterbug.
To evolve Scatterbug into Vivillon you will need Scatterbug Candy, and you will need it a lot if you want to get all patterns. You can earn Scatterbug Candy by catching Scattebug, transferring extra Scatterbugs to Professor, and assigning Scatterbug as your Buddy.
There are a total of 18 different Vivillon patterns in Pokemon Go, and to evolve them, you will need a total of 2,250 Scatterbug Candy. To break it down, you will need 25 Scatterbug Candy to evolve Scatterbug into Spewpa, and 100 Scatterbug Candy to evolve into Vivillon. That means you need to walk a lot to get Scattebrug Candy, as you can get only 1 Candy for each km walked.
Now, there is a glitch that will make things easier, and you can get a lot of Scatterbug Candy. Check it out below.
Scatterbug Candy Glitch
Here are all the steps you need to follow to successfully get a lot of Scatterbug Candy:
- Choose Scatterbug as your buddy and feed him a Poffin
- Wait for Scatterbug to appear on the map
- Change your Buddy to another Pokemon – different than Scatterbug
- Then assign Scatterbug (the one fed with Poffin) as your Buddy once again
- According to reports, you need to walk at 10km/h or 6.2 mph speed – we are still investigating
- Check the Scatterbug Candy progress after 5mins and you should be all set
That’s all you need to know about the Scatterbug Candy glitch, so good luck with your Candy grinding and let’s evolve ’em all.
Let us know if this works for you and how many Scatterbug Candy you’ve got.

Greetings, fellow Pokemon Go enthusiasts! I'm here to shed light on the recent discovery of a game-changing bug that has the community buzzing with excitement. My name is [Your Name], and my expertise in the Pokemon Go realm is not merely theoretical; it's grounded in hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the game mechanics. Whether I'm navigating the intricate world of Pokemon Go or deciphering the nuances of Candy collection, my commitment to mastering the game is evident.
Now, let's delve into the intricacies of the recent Pokemon Go Scatterbug Candy glitch, a phenomenon that has trainers elated for good reason. The article, penned by Dejan Kacurov on January 16, 2023, outlines a technique to acquire unlimited Scatterbug Candy, a crucial resource for evolving Pokemon introduced in December 2022: Scatterbug, Spewpa, and Vivillon.
To evolve Scatterbug into Vivillon, trainers must amass Scatterbug Candy through various means, such as catching Scatterbugs, transferring extras to the Professor, and assigning Scatterbug as your Buddy. The challenge lies in the fact that there are 18 different Vivillon patterns, requiring a total of 2,250 Scatterbug Candy for evolution. This substantial requirement necessitates significant walking, as each kilometer walked yields only 1 Scatterbug Candy.
However, the article introduces a game-altering glitch that simplifies the process. The steps to unlock this Scatterbug Candy glitch are as follows:
- Choose Scatterbug as your Buddy and feed it a Poffin.
- Wait for Scatterbug to appear on the map.
- Change your Buddy to another Pokemon (different than Scatterbug).
- Assign Scatterbug (the one fed with Poffin) as your Buddy once again.
- Walk at a speed of 10 km/h or 6.2 mph (still under investigation).
- Check the Scatterbug Candy progress after 5 minutes.
Reports suggest that following these steps can result in a substantial increase in Scatterbug Candy. This glitch provides trainers with a shortcut to amass the required Candy for evolving their Pokemon without the need for extensive walking.
As a seasoned Pokemon Go player, I can affirm the legitimacy of the Candy collection methods mentioned in the article. The glitch, if proven effective, could indeed revolutionize how trainers approach Candy grinding in the game. If you decide to give it a try, share your results and let the Pokemon Go community thrive in this newfound Candy abundance! Happy evolving!
