Description

A true vintage fretless P-Bass offering superb playability & dynamic tone. The black finish pairs perfectly with the black pickguard & maple fingerboard - just an ultra cool look overall. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready for action straight out of the case.

Cosmetic Condition: This was definitely someone's go-to bass - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The black finish has dulled quite a bit on the top of the body & has an almost "burnt" appearance, so it's quite possible it got a little too close to some high heat at some point. Overall the bass looks really cool with an authentic vintage vibe & nice patina.

Neck: Maple neck & fingerboard with black side-dots. Headstock decals are in great shape with no bits missing. Fender open-gear clover tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck dates to 1975.

Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in black. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles & original bridge cover. 3-ply black pickguard with tugbar. The bass-side corner of the pickguard has chipped off. Bass weighs 9 lbs 10.1 oz.

Electronics: Split single coil with original cover. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. Pots date to '75 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included along with the original sales receipt, owner's manual & Fender strap - how cool is that!

  • Still in awe. Just received my used 1997 Les Paul Studio DC. It arrived in a timely manner. It was packed very well. The guitar was clean and ready to play. If fact I'm still haven't been able to put it down. It was my first time buying a used guitar but I would definitely recommend this company.
  • I've never purchased a guitar online before, so I was bit weary at first. Boy, am I glad I purchased it through Cream City. I just received my guitar and its fantastic. I wanted to thank Paul Schell for helping with the whole process and making my purchase worry-free. I'll be coming back again for sure.
  • Buying an expensive guitar online can be a nerve racking and treacherous process -- but the purchase of my new 12 string Gretsch Country Gentleman with Cream City was a transaction beyond perfect. Brian at Cream City was extremely helpful, honest, professional and communicative -- and the guitar arrived in perfect condition two days ahead of schedule. Farewell Sweetwater, Cream City is my new go-to.
  • I have purchased two guitars from this company and the whole experience has been first class. Even down to the double box they ship the guitars in, everything is done perfectly. I really appreciate the communication and help and advice from both Bill and Andy. Not only is the service and product awesome but I really don't think you will find a better price. Its a Win Win with these guys!
  • So glad I walked in here today. Nice staff, very helpful. Wide selection of vintage guitars. Chad got me set up with my new string box and I couldn't be happier with it. Great price on my new '73 Martin D-28. Will absolutely come back here again for my music needs.
  • Okay, straight up cream city kicks a@*. I bought a tele deluxe over Internet, they worked with me to get my specific setup preferences, shipped it promptly, with great communications start to finish. I've bought and sold about 15 guitars in the last 3 years and this has been my best experience with a music shop. Highly recommend.
  • I love this place and have been shopping here for years. They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff with a wide selection of guitars, amps, pedals and accessories. I am a professional guitar instructor in the area and I refer my students to Cream City for any of their guitar/gear/repair needs. My students always have positive things to say after shopping here as well. If you need anything guitar related, this is the place to go!
